As shown, 555 and RP1, R2, and C1 form an astable multivibrator. Adjusting RP1 changes the oscillation frequency and duty cycle. The pulse it outputs triggers the trigger consisting of VT1 and VT2. V01 and V02 can alternately trigger two thyristors.
