Shenzhen integrated circuit design output accounts for 1/3 of the country

The largest integrated circuit (IC) industry event in South China was held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on June 28 and 29 at the "Shenzhen (International) Integrated Circuit Technology Innovation and Application Exhibition." The reporter learned from the exhibition that, thanks to the domestic policy of developing strategic emerging industries, Shenzhen has developed rapidly in recent years in the field of IC design with the most potential for development in the IC industry, and has become one of the major strengths of domestic IC design.

The "IC Innovation and Application Exhibition" was sponsored by the Shenzhen Science and Technology Industry and Information Technology Committee and the Shenzhen Science and Technology Association. It is currently the largest number of exhibitors exhibited by domestic IC design companies. The exhibition brought together the latest domestic semiconductor technology, innovative design and application solutions. A total of 107 domestic and foreign integrated circuit companies participated in the exhibition, including well-known companies such as MIPS, VeriSilicon Microelectronics, Spreadtrum Communications, BYD [25.4541.39% shares] microelectronics, etc. There are also overseas manufacturers from Taiwan, South Korea and the United States.

Qiu Xuan, deputy director of the Municipal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Information Committee, said that in 2010 Shenzhen IC design industry output value has reached 10.6 billion yuan, an increase of 30.9% year-on-year, accounting for about one-third of the country's share; and two companies with sales exceeding 1 billion Yuan Renminbi entered the top ten IC design companies in China.

The integrated circuit (IC) is the basis of the electronic information industry and modern industry. Whether it is to upgrade the core technologies of traditional industries or to promote the development of emerging industries, IC industry cannot support the IC industry. IC design is the soul of IC products. Build the core of "China Core".

Zhou Shengming, director of the National Integrated Circuit Design Shenzhen Industrialization Base, said that as integrated circuits are important to Shenzhen's independent innovation and industrial upgrading, Shenzhen City attaches great importance to the integrated circuit industry. In recent years, integrated circuits have been used as key support areas in the city’s scientific and technological R&D projects, and IC-related projects have also accounted for a relatively high proportion of the major scientific and technological projects in the city and the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation Circle project.
